Dream Like You Will never be a day like this Say hello say goodbye (with a kiss) All we dream of and even more No one knows what’s in store I may be blind in one eye But I can see the truth Another year’s gone by    I am still hoping tonight (Wish) I could see like you Be like you  Dream like you Get a new lens to see me through What do you see when morning breaks? Do you feel after your earth quakes? Do you have what it takes? To stand tall when your ground shakes Never be a night like this See you cry with a kiss All we scheme of and even more No one knows what’s in store I may be blind in one eye I am still wishing tonight I could see like you Be like you  Dream like you Get a new lens to see me through Lost souls in the night Aimlessly roam Hindsight is 20-20  We’re all searching for a home  (Wish) I could see like you Be like you  Dream like you Get a new lens to see me through (Wish) I could see like you Be like you  Dream like you Get a new lens to see me through

Every Step 03:20
Every Step When you are weary Drawn down by the other half When you are blinded And can’t see another path Listen for an answer In the calling of a friend Let them take your cancer And put you on the mend Every step I took Led me where I didn’t want to be I was stuck inside myself Longing to be… Short-sighted confidants Will keep you safe repeating They just tell you what you want And deny the cheating You know the day will come When you turn and run And every move you make Just can’t be undone Now - Every step I take Leads me where I wanna be No longer stuck - in her reality Now - Every step I take Leads me where I wanna be No longer stuck - in this insanity Shake a little, take a little break a little free Shake a little, take a little break a little free Now - Every step I take Leads me where I wanna be No longer stuck - in her reality Every step I take Leads me where I wanna be No longer stuck - in this insanity

Live out Loud It’s a red-letter day In the autumn of the year We’ve got nothing to lose Not sure how we made it here The kids are in the street Forces fend away their fear When you’ve got something to say Be sure to make it clear Say what you wanna say Be what you wanna be Live out loud You can’t - just let it be - no don’t let it be. Get off of your bed Get out of your seat The paper trail is long Littered with deceit News is in your face Every day and night and day There’s nothing to replace There’s nowhere left to play Say what you wanna say Be what you wanna be Live out loud Can’t just let it be - no don’t let it be. Are you ready for sea change? Are you ready for a land slide? There’s something in my eye For hours and hours and - I try Say what you wanna say Be what you wanna be Live out loud You can’t just let it be You gotta - say what you wanna say Be what you wanna be Live out loud You can’t just let it be - no don’t let it be

Stranger 04:02
Stranger There’s a ghost down the hall I can hear her call In the middle of the night, may be shaken I’m not stirred at all Been away too long I am not looking for a fight Too many days been gone And there’s no place to sleep When I get home I’m a Stranger in my house I’m an unwanted man A stranger in my house Catch me if you can There’s a face I recall in the midst of it all Telling me don’t give up You do what you gotta do Work the whole day through And refill the loving cup I’m a Stranger in my house I’m an unwanted man A stranger in my house Catch me if you can She screams – get out She screams shut up I ain’t gonna budge She ain’t the judge I’m a Stranger in my house I’m an unwanted man A stranger in my house Catch me if you can

See Us Through Honey the day has come We must take care of each other Hold my hand as one We will run for cover There is nowhere to go but home Shelter in place - not alone Telling you my friend We’ll be together in the end Washing away your fears I am here to hold you A love to last for years I’ll be here to See Us Through See Us Through See Us Through Some don’t listen to words Some don’t read the signs Don’t heed the warning It’s a short-sighted crime We gotta dig deep this time Every day a new weird Wish we were closer to fine The air we breathe ain’t clear Washing away your fears I am here to hold you A love to last for years I’ll be here to See Us Through See Us Through See Us Through - See Us… ——- instrumental break —————- I’ll wash away your fears I am here to hold you A love to last for years I’ll be here to see us through See Us Through See Us Through See Us Through See Us Through

Polarized 03:41
Polarized I can see it in your eyes You are Polarized I can hear it in your lies You are Paralyzed So, this breaking news - it’s breaking you Raise your hand and testify Take a stance – pick a side The White House stained Never be the same The insane sick at large Somehow got in charge Take us down crazy lane Your policy to blame And if we could impeach What story do we teach? I can see it in your eyes You are Polarized I can hear it in your lies You are Paralyzed No solace in the right Unify the uptight We may have won tonight But there is no end in sight… Character assassin Rest of world is laughing Stakes are high tonight Blinded by the light I can see it in your eyes You are Polarized I can hear it in your lies You are Paralyzed The future so bright, I, I, I, I Is the true to the left- truth to the right I believe – I believe – I believe It time to clean house - reunite

Everyone Goes Away Promises I couldn’t keep Haunt me in my sleep In exile from my past It’s pulling up close and fast Summer sun fades away Gives way to darker days And Everyone – everyone goes away Everyone – everyone goes away Choking on the bittersweet Train tracks beneath my feet Racing subway screeching loud Bowery – cold, distracted crowd Familiar songs don’t sound the same Changing pictures in the photo frame And Everyone – everyone goes away Everyone – everyone goes away Ooh La La Lie – Lay away And ooh hi way – Hey, hey, hey – Take me away And Everyone – everyone goes away Everyone – everyone goes away And Everyone – everyone goes away Everyone – everyone goes away

Pretending 03:15
Pretending Under a full moon sky  The stars are shining bright Bitter cold champagne dry No twinkle in your eye You look right through my eyes As if I weren’t alive Wondering under my breath Is there love after death We are pretending No longer trending Part of me has died  My Eyes are open wide Behind a wall of fear I found you my dear We dove right in Hook, line and I’m sinking Lived hard, fierce and fast Your future became my past  We’ve covered a million miles Wearing down your smile Now, we’re pretending No longer trending Part of you has died  Arms are open wide We are pretending No longer trending Part of me has died  My Eyes are open wide

Outta My Head Daybreaks heart aches Running over last nights dismay Can I do whatever it takes To wash your words away Too many moons to count Passed since it was real Still and still I recount The way you made me feel Gotta Get You Yeah I wanna get you I just gotta Get you Outta My Head... Some pictures you can’t unsee Some words you can’t Un-hear The scene galvanized in me Bad decisions all too clear Running to the airport Gotta catch a plane I’ve got Blood on the Tracks And I’m swallowing my pain Gotta Get You Yeah I wanna get you I just gotta Get you Outta My Head... Temperature is rising Everywhere I go The illness spreading wild Fear grows more the less you know Night Falls the bird calls I go to bed with the setting son As I recall my heart stalls And sets me on the run... Gotta Get You Yeah I wanna get you I just gotta Get you Outta My Head...

How Many Nights? Words like swords tonight  Enlisted in the fight There is no wrong or right  In the Love affair When you look in the mirror  Do your eyes see any clearer?  Trying but I don’t hear her  Walking streets in despair How many nights like this  Married without a kiss  How many nights like this  Until you break....  in two Senses working overtime See, hear, smell, touch, rhyme  Tilted rose, old valentine  Hope is slowly waning Carelessly we roam Wishing for a home You can be lonely but not alone  Drama no longer entertains me How many nights like this  Married without a kiss  How many nights like this  Until you break.... in two Kids so innocent and kind  Heart and head remind Only so much time  How many nights like this  Married without a kiss  How many nights like this  Until you break... in two

about

Through The Glass

It was the saddest of times, it was the sickest of times. On a Friday the 13th of March in the year of perfect vision, the world changed… for everyone. We were forced into isolation by fear of dying from an invisible enemy. They say history doesn’t repeat but rather rhymes… And so we all began living an historical rhyme with the last line a century old and unheard phrases with every day ahead.

Looking Through The Glass I see friends, family, co-workers, on screens. My kids Lennon and Sophie with their faces now masked. I wish I could Dream Like You and see this all through a different lens. We now calculate Every Step we take to ensure safety, crossing the street to avoid each other. Is this really what is has come to? Can we no longer Live Out Loud and say what we want to say and be what we want to be? I have become a Stranger in my own home, avoiding contact and confrontation…. All in the name of what?

At some point we reach our limits. There must be a way to See Us Through and get to the other side. Families change as we find new ways to live in the face of danger. Many of us lost loved ones… and many have become Polarized going to extremes fighting in the streets - for equality, humanity, and for survival. It all sounds dramatic, but it’s real. There are certain Givens in the theorem of life…. Death, Taxes, etc. and ultimately, Everyone Goes Away. When push comes to shove, the ones you love will pass you by…. Why? There comes a time when your childhood innocence wears off and there is no more Pretending. It’s time to face the music.

And so, I work hard to create moments that last and, at the same time, self-medicate to get other memories Outta My Head. At the end of the day, week, month, I still wonder How Many Nights like this must pass before we see the light? I continue to look through my thick spectacles and each glass that is half full to see what promise of something better might be on the other side.

It is with a voice and a guitar, that I am searching through melodies, rhythms, and rhymes to find a better time. And may we all heal together somehow and pivot to a better place.
